Randall Faith, Attorney

Randy has been affiliated with VLI for over 20 years, and currently serves as Board Chair. He serves on the Citrus Valley Health Foundation Board of Directors.

Susan Farnworth, Community Advocate

Susan takes the concept of volunteerism to the extreme! She is always educating the community about the services provided by VLI, as has ever referred business owners to our program. In addition to serving on the VLI board, Susan Volunteers with Five Acres and Hillside Manor as a mentor and tutor to abused children, coordinated a charity run for the ASPCA and is co-chair for the Hurst Ranch historical site.

John Weigand, AeroJet Electronics Corporation (retired)

John is a parent who came to our Board after his son began receiving services at VLI in 1999. He is very active with the agency, made the following statement about his experience: “I feel blessed to have seen a wonderful growth in VLI during my tenure with the board. In my first year, the board nominated Pamela Hayes as its CEO. One of Pam’s first actions was to move the company to a more modern facility better suited for its operation. The staff has become more professional and is now dedicated to do the very best for each of their consumers. Pam has transformed VLI from a financially marginal company to the one of the most stable in the region, if not the state.”

Meet our Executive Counsel

Ivan Campos

Ivan has worked in the human services field since 1992, the last ten with VLI. His involvement with both segregated and integrated vocational service gives him a unique perspective into the benefits of providing lots of options for consumers seeking work experience. Ivan loves the fact that he has “a part in creating new and exciting work opportunities of our consumers.”

Denise Paller

Denise has worked as a Job Coach, Counselor, Case Manager, Program Coordinator, and Quality Assurance Director all during her 18 years of service with VLI…. starting as our Receptionist!  Denise “loves the freedom to be creative in working with people with disabilities; although it is challenging at times, it is also the most rewarding type of work I know of. The people we work with are a pleasure to be around and make each day fun and exciting.”

Jeannette Lyons

VLI’s newest member comes to us with over 15 years of experience in the financial field. She was initially attracted to our agency by the opportunity to work with a non-profit organization where she can see that her work allows her to give back to the people we serve and not feel like she is just “punching numbers” all day. She states that she is “happy to be part of such a caring organization!”

Meet our Administrative Counsil

Johnny Camacho

Johnny began his tenure with VLI over ten years ago in our now-defunct workshop, and was promoted to Case Manager with our Supported Employment Program based on his vast experience with direct care and penchant for the written word. He “enjoys the clients and likes feeling that I’ve made a difference in their lives.”

Raudel Delgado

Raudel came to VLI from the “other side”, working as a Production Manager in the private sector for 10 years. Starting in 2004 as our Workshop Manager, Raudel transitioned into community based services to clients through experience and advocacy.

Eduardo Del Rio

Eduardo will complete his degree in Social Work at CA State University Los Angeles this year. His employee experience as Job Coach, Case Manager, and Program Director for services with a behavioral emphasis support his success “helping individuals with disabilities and their families” seeking community based employment.

Patricia Garcia

Patricia balances a career with VLI while studying nursing.  Her warm demeanor and patient attitude make her a natural at what she does.  Patricia came to VLI in 2007 after four years in the field, and likes being involved with Ventures as it “teaches independent living skills and assisting people with developmental disabilities.”
Logan Hayes

Susan Hernandez

Susan came to VLI with an abundance of experience working with individuals with behavior challenges.  During her few years, Susan demonstrated the skills that supported her promotion to a Ventures Program Coordinator. In 2010, Susan’s unique skills as a leader prompted VLI to create a Corporate Staff Trainer; in this position she develops and provides training to all direct support professionals, including disability awareness, cultural values, medication management, documentation, and other topics of relevance; additionally, Susan is a certified Crisis Prevention and First Aid/CPR trainer.

Diane Herrera

Diane came to VLI in early 2008 as a Job Coach with experience in Marketing and Sales Management; it quickly became clear to us, however, that Job Development is her true calling. “What I like the most is seeking new work opportunities for our consumers and making sure they are very happy.  If they are happy with the job I find for them, it makes me even happier!”

Melissa Macias

Melissa came to VLI as a “temp” in CSULB with a degree in Communication Studies, and has been here ever since! She coordinates both client services and marketing ventures for the agency, but states that her favorite part of working here is “being able to see the clients smile when they achieve something!”

Melissa Perez

Melissa was first introduced to social services by her mother, who worked in a group home.  She came to VLI in 2007 after working for 5 years as a group home manager. Her previous experience with a community based program as a Job Coach and Case Manager led to her current position, where she “enjoys working with my clients and being able to help them succeed in their work environment and in their community.”

Lupe Romo

Guadalupe joined our team in 2007 as a Job Coach, then transferred to the Ventures program.  As our ADC was being developed, Lupe expressed an interest and was ultimately hired as its Program Manager.  She likes “how VLI cares about the achievements and fulfillment and personal growth of their employees and consumers.” She loves working with consumers to serve their needs and help them overcome their struggles.

Laura Saucedo

Laura came to us originally from the San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center seeking supported employment services. She was placed in temporary position to cover for our Receptionist while on maternity leave, and was hired on full time when the position became available.  She loves “keeping busy in the fast-paced environment of VLI and enjoys interacting with consumers, customers and guests who come to the office.”

Gladys Soto

Gladys began her career at VLI with our Ventures program, bringing extensive experience with both group homes and day programs.  She moved into the Administrator position at our STAR Home in 2010, and enjoys creating a “safe, friendly environment for our residents, that looks more like a home than a facility.”

Nick Swineheart

Nick, who often reminds us that he has been doing job development for “104 years or so” has been associated with VLI since 2004. He studied Behavioral Sciences at Cal Poly Pomona, and worked for five years as a psychiatric social worker. Among the reasons he stays in the field is “to educate the business community about utilizing supported employment services as a viable and valued employment solution” while making a difference in the lives of our clients.
